Review: Bud Light Seltzer Cocktail Hour

Bud Light Seltzer Cocktail Hour was released April 25, 2022.  This is a limited release seltzer that will be sold through the summer.  As the name would imply this is Bud Light’s cocktail inspired hard seltzer.  This appears to be a relaunch of last years, Bud Light Seltzer Out of Office variety pack.  This year’s Cocktail Hour variety pack has the same flavors with the exception of Tropical Punch replacing last years Mango Mai Tai.  Each of the four flavors found in this 12 can variety pack weigh in with 100 calories 5% alcohol, 0 sugar, and 2 carbs.  Like the other Bud Light seltzers the Bud Light Cocktail Hour flavors are made from a cold fermented cane sugar alcohol base with natural flavors, and malted rice.  Each flavor of Bud Light Seltzer Cocktail Hour also contains sucralose.

Bud Light Seltzer Lime Margarita:  Made with Key Lime extract.  The aroma leads with lime juice and agave.  The lime juice entry is joined by agave building to a Green River lime soda and agave peak.  It fades with sour lime juice and finishes with sugary Lime Kool-Aid and agave taste.

Grade: B

Bud Light Seltzer Watermelon Mojito:  The aroma leads with Jolly Rancher Watermelon candy.  Mint follows.  The sweet watermelon candy entry is joined by spearmint gum building to a watermelon bubblegum peak.  It fades with tangy citrus and finishes with Wrigley Spearmint gum and Watermelon Starburst taste.

Grade: C+

Bud Light Seltzer Strawberry Daiquiri:  Made with Key Lime extract.  The aroma leads with .  The frozen Strawberry entry is joined by lime juice building to a Strawberry Slurpee, brown sugar and limeade peak.  It fades with creamy malted rice and Strawberry Sour Patch Kid and finishes with tangy juice, Lime Chuckles, molasses cookie, and strawberry licorice flavor.

Grade: B-

Bud Light Seltzer Tropical Punch:  The aroma leads with lime, orange, and pineapple.  The tropical fruit punch entry leads with pineapple,, passion fruit, and lime.  It fades with creamy malted rice and orange creamsicle, and finishes with tangy pineapple, juicy tangerine, tart lime, passion fruit, and vanilla butter cream.

Grade: B+

The Bottom Line:  A-B promises the loudest flavors ever with Bud Light Seltzer Cocktail Hour.  I would describe the flavor as more sweet than loud and I feel it will appeal more to a younger audience,, than those looking for a canned cocktail experience.
