Review: O’Reillys Irish Cream

by Jeff Ellingson

O'Reillys Irish CreamO’Reillys Irish cream was created to commemorate the marriage of Robert Merry from R.A. Merry & Co into the O’Reilly clan.  This wine based Irish cream is produced at 13.9% alcohol by R.A. Merry in Clonmel Ireland. In the bottle the aroma is French vanilla pudding.  It pours thin to a caramel latte color.  In my glass I pick up some butterscotch and alcohol notes.  In my mouth it feels thin with a light creaminess.  The initial vanilla flavor is followed by caramel and butterscotch closing with a sweet red wine finish.  The overall experience is maybe a little too sweet.

Made in Clonmel, County Tipperary Ireland
