Review: Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water Berry Mix Pack

Wild Basin just released 3 new flavors in their Boozy Sparkling Water line.  These three flavors are Blueberry Mango, Yumberry, and Strawberry Coconut. Three cans of each are combined with 3 cans of their previously released Black Raspberry to make up their new Berry Mix 12 pack.  The Oskar Blues Brewery best known for producing Dale’s Pale Ale, the beer that made drinking beer in cans cool, launched the Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water line in December of 2018.  They launched with four flavors, Classic Lime, Cucumber Peach, Lemon Agave Hibiscus, and Melon Basil.  All eight flavor are produced in Longmont Colorado and weigh in with 100 calories, 0 Grams of sugar, and 1 Carb.  All are made with water, alcohol from cane sugar, natural flavors, cane sugar, citric acid and carbon dioxide.  $1 from the sale of each case of Wild Basin goes to Can’d Aid Foundation to support river and beach clean ups around the country.  As of this posting they have donated nearly $200,000.

Wild Basin Black Raspberry

The aroma is blackberry jam and Raspberry Jell-O.  Additional time in the glass brings out blackberry froyo notes.  The sweet blackberry licorice entry builds to a juicy blackberry peak.  It fades and finishes with tart blackberry and sweet raspberry.  Wild Basin Black Raspberry never strays far from delivering a true natural blackberry taste experience.

Wild Basin Yumberry

My first question was, is yumberry a real berry?  The answer is yes.  Yumberry are native to China and they are also know as Chinese Strawberry, and Red Bayberry.  The aroma is freeze dried strawberry with a peach backing.  Additional time in the glass brings out more strawberry ice cream notes.   The redberry entry leads toward strawberry with raspberry as the secondary flavor.  Blueberry arrives building to a tart peach berry peak.  It fades with blueberry, current, and peach flavor.  The finish is dry leaving freeze dried strawberry taste.

Wild Basin Blueberry Mango 

The aroma leads with blueberry preserve.  Additional time in the glass brings out sliced mango.  The blueberry bubblegum entry is joined by ripe mango building to a crisp tart blueberry muffin and juicy mango peak.  It fades with mango pudding and finishes with creamy blueberry yogurt taste.

Grade: A-

Wild Basin Strawberry Coconut

The aroma is strawberry jam, cotton candy, and coconut buttercream.  The fresh strawberry entry builds to a tart strawberry peak.  It fades with creamy coconut and strawberry jam.  The finish leaves strawberry froyo and coconut parfait taste.  Wild Basin Strawberry Coconut has the most real strawberry taste I’ve found in a hard seltzer.  The creamy coconut provides a nice balance.
