Review: Ciderboys Raspberry Smash Hard Cider

ciderboys raspberry - CopyCiderboys Raspberry Smash Hard cider was introduced July 2013.  It is one of five seasonal ciders that along with their two year round flavors are made at the Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point Wisconsin.  It is available March 1- May 31 each year.  Raspberry Smash starts with juice from Washington state apples that is fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks for two weeks.  It is then fermented before 100% raspberry juice and natural flavors are blended in a two step proprietary process.  No sugar or artificial color is added.It pours to a rich golden color with full carbonation and a fluffy white head.  The aroma is a mix of fresh pressed apples and just smashed raspberries.  The flavor enters as raspberry with crisp apple under tones building in intensity to a tart peak before fading with a semi dry finish.  If you are looking for a very tart raspberry cider this may be the cider for you.
