Review: SeekOut Seltzer Lemonade
SeekOut Seltzer Lemonade is one of two new 12 can variety packs released June 2021 by 2 Towns Ciderhouse. The other variety pack, Tropical, replaced the Original SeekOut Seltzer variety pack. They brought back SeekOut Pineapple and Passion Fruit, and they reformulated and renamed SeekOut Key Lime + Mint to SeekOut Key Lime Mojito. They replaced two of my favorite hard seltzers, SeekOut Raspberry and Meyer Lemon, and SeekOut Clementine + Grapefruit with Apricot Mango and Kiwi Blackberry. The good news is SeekOut Raspberry and Meyer Lemon has been rebranded to Raspberry Lemonade and moved to their Lemonade variety pack. Each 12 oz. can of SeekOut Lemonade Seltzer weighs in with 5% alcohol, and 100 calories. They are crafted with water, apple wine, Meyer Lemon juice, natural flavors and flavor specific fruit juice. Absent from the ingredient list is Stevia which is used in most of the other hard seltzer lemonades on the market today.
SeekOut Raspberry Lemonade: Made with Raspberry Juice and Raspberry essence. It pours to a deep pink red color. The aroma leads with fresh smashed raspberry and sliced Meyer lemon. The sweet raspberry entry is joined by fresh tangy Meyer lemon juice building to a juicy fruit peak. It fades with apple juice and finishes with tart raspberry and Meyer Lemon taste.
Grade: A-
SeekOut Black Current + Pomegranate Lemonade: Made with Black Current Juice, and Pomegranate Juice. It pours to a deep purple red color. The aroma includes a fruit medley of black current, pomegranate, and Meyer lemon juice. The sweet blackberry and pomegranate entry is joined by fresh Meyer lemon at the midpoint. It fades with apple juice and finishes with fresh blackberry, pomegranate juice, and Meyer lemon taste.
Grade: A
SeekOut Blueberry + Hibiscus Lemonade: Made with Blueberry Juice, and Hibiscus. The aroma leads with fresh blueberry and floral notes. The fresh blueberry entry is joined by Meyer lemon and cranberry building to a tart pomegranate and blueberry peak. It fades with apple juice, sour berry, and lemon and finishes with sweet blueberry juice and whole Meyer lemon taste.
Grade: B
SeekOut Blackberry + Lemonade: Made with Blackberry Juice. The aroma leads with Meyer Lemon and fresh blackberry. The sweet blackberry entry is joined by Meyer lemon building to a tart Meyer Lemon and blackberry juice peak. It fades with apple juice and finishes with tangy Meyer Lemon and juicy blackberry taste.
Grade: B+
The Bottom Line: All four SeekOut Seltzer Lemonade’s have fresh fruit flavor without being over sweet. I would describe the flavor experience as more Meyer lemon seltzer than hard seltzer lemonade. I also like the absence of Stevia. Some people don’t care for cilantro, I’m not a big fan of stevia and the aftertaste it leaves.
