Review: Battlefield Vodka
Battlefield Vodka is made from 100% locally grown white corn. It is distilled six times. Battlefield is named to honor the Battle of Gettysburg and is crafted at Old Republic Distillery. The brother and sister team of Bill and Denise Mathias opened its doors March 2013. They currently produce 8 spirits including vodka, rum, and moonshine. The aroma leads with lemon pound cake. Additional time brings out white corn notes. The sweet lemon sugar cookie entry has a soft mouth feel building to a lemon sorbet and creamed corn peak. It fades with lemon drop candy and saline and finishes milky, with tart lemon, tangy lemon peel, Chinese almond cookies, and white pepper. This is not your typical cookie cutter corn distilled vodka.
