Review: Dos Equis Ranch Water Variety Pack
Dos Equis Ranch Water was launched June 2021. It is now available in a four flavor 12 can variety pack. While most think of Dos Equis as a Mexican Beer, few know Dos Equis began when Wilhelm Hasse a German immigrant arrived in Mexico where he founded Moctezuma Brewery in Veracruz. He first brewed Siglo XX in 1897. Dos Equis Amber Especial is brewed the same way, only the name has changed. In addition to Dos Equis Amber and Dos Equis Lager beer, Dos Equis also brews Dos Equis Lime & Salt and three flavored lagers. Each 12 ounce can of Dos Equis Ranch Water is made from a sugar alcohol base with natural flavors and weigh in with 100 calories and 4.5% alcohol.
Dos Equis Classic Lime: The aroma leads with earthy agave with funky pumpkin pulp notes. Lime follows. The earthy agave entry is joined by lime juice building to a tart lime agave peak. It fades with lime juice, saline, and foamy seltzer and finishes with whole lime, agave, and carbon seltzer.

Dos Equis Blood Orange: The aroma pops with the same earthy agave. Malt and peeled orange follows. The sweet orange entry is joined by earthy agave building to a juicy blood orange peak. It fades with tart blood orange and finishes with whole blood orange agave and carbon seltzer.

Dos Equis Mango: The aroma again leads with earthy agave. Malt and mango follow. The sweet mango and malty agave entry builds to a juicey mango peak. It fades with tangy mango and finishes with fresh mango, agave, malt and carbon seltzer.

Dos Equis Spicy Grapefruit: The aroma leads with fresh peeled grapefruit. Agave and seasoned roasted pepper follows. The sweet grapefruit and seasoned roasted pepper entry is joined by agave building to a well balanced mildly spicy grapefruit agave peak. It fades with tart juicy natural grapefruit, jalapeno, and agave.
Grade: A-
The Bottom Line: With the exception of Spicy Grapefruit there is more agave presence in Dos Equis Ranch Water than any canned ranch water I’ve tasted. The agave comes off a little funky with maybe a bit too much agave on the nose followed by a dominating presence throughout the taste experience.
