Review: Bud Light Seltzer Apple Slices Variety Pack
Bud Light Seltzer Apple Slices was just released. It is a four flavor 12 can variety pack. This can best be described as an apple flavored hard seltzer variety pack. While there have been hard seltzer lemonades, hard seltzer punch, hard seltzer margarita’s, hard seltzer soda’s, hard seltzer watermelon, and hard seltzer iced tea variety packs this is the first Apple flavored hard seltzer variety pack. Last fall at this time Bud Light released Bud Light Fall Flannel Variety pack, with flavors including Apple Crisp, Maple Pear, Pumpkin Spice, and Toasted Marshmallow. Anheuser Busch has been very aggressive creating hard seltzers but a look at their website shows they no longer are making Bud Light Hard Seltzer Lemonade, Iced Tea, Ugly Sweater, and they have also dropped one of their original flavor variety packs. Each 12 ounce slim can of Bud Light Seltzer Apple Slices weighs in with 100 calories 5% alcohol, 3 carbs, and 1 gram of sugar. They are made with water, cold fermented cane sugar, natural flavor, liquid cane sugar, sucralose, malted rice, and fruit juice for color.
Bud Light Crisp Apple: It pours to a golden lager color. The aroma leads with apple cider. The fresh apple slice entry builds to a tart apple cider peak. It fades with cinnamon applesauce and finishes with sour apple juice and creamy malted rice.
Grade: A-
Bud Light Strawberry Apple: The aroma leads with apple and malt. Additional time brings out strawberry. The sweet fruit entry is an equal blend of apple and strawberry building to a strawberry puree and apple cider peak. It fades with tangy apple and finishes with sour strawberry and apple softened by malted rice.
Grade: B+
Bud Light Cranberry Apple: The aroma leads with apple juice. Cranberry and malted rice follows. The sweet crisp apple entry builds to an cranberry apple peak. It fades with tart cranberry and juicy apple and finishes with sweet cranberry sauce, sour apple juice, and creamy malted rice.
Grade: A-
Bud Light Peach Mango Apple: The aroma leads with mango. Additional time brings out peach nectar, sliced apple, and white rice. The peach and baked apple entry is joined by mango building to a mango peach pie peak. It fades with tart apple and bright peach and finishes with apple cider, sour peach, ripe mango, and steamed white rice.
Grade: A
The Bottom Line: While sweet and full flavored I don’t find the artificial sugar taste I get with most of the hard seltzer lemonades. The fruit flavors are natural tasting and I also don’t get the same flavor fatigue I get from some of the over sweet hard seltzers on the market today.
