Review: Wishkah River Vodka
Wishkah River Vodka is crafted at Wishkah River Distillery in Aberdeen Washington. Aberdeen was once known as the Lumber Capital of the World. The distillery was founded by Sid and Sue Watts in 2010. They also produce gin and whiskey. When Sid accepted a new job in Australia they sold the distillery to a group led by Josh Mayr who is a fifth generation Aberdeen Washington resident. Josh had begun volunteering at the distillery in 2011 and a year later partnered with his friend Chris Olsen the owner of City Center Drug, and two others in acquiring the distillery. Wishkah River Vodka is triple distilled from Washington state wildflower honey. The aroma leads with floral, orange, honey, and black licorice. The sweet citrus entry is joined by vanilla and honey building to a wildflower honey peak. It fades with butterscotch and orange and finishes warm and peppery with anise, orange peel, wildflower honey, and black pepper.
