Review: Midnight Moon Moonshake Chocolate Brownie Moonshine Cream Liqueur
Piedmont Distillers recently released Midnight Moon Moonshake a line of moonshine cream liqueurs. It is currently available in three year round flavors including Apple Pie, Cookies & Cream, and todays focus Chocolate Brownie. Piedmont Distillers was North Carolina’s first legal distillery since prohibition. They were also the first craft distillery in the United States to offer a legal moonshine in 2005. Moonshake is a combination of two American classics, moonshine and milkshakes. Each Moonshake is made from their original moonshine base. The moonshine recipe was inspired by moonshiner and NASCAR Hall of Famer Junior Johnson’s legendary family recipe. It is distilled from 100% American Corn and blended with rich vanilla cream (milk, cream and soy), and chocolate brownie flavor. It pours to a rich chocolate milk color. The aroma leads with dark chocolate ice cream. The chocolate milk entry is thin with an oily mouth feel building to a chocolate fudge milkshake peak. It fades with gooey chocolate brownie, and vanilla cream, and finishes with a mild moonshine burn.
