Review: Cashel Irish Cream Liqueur

by Jeff Ellingson

Cashel Irish Cream Liqueur is one of a over a dozen Irish Cream liqueurs produced by Robert A Merry & Co. in County Tipperary Ireland.  Cashel is also the name of a small town in County Tipperary that is the home of the Rock of Cashel.  Known for its historic significance the town possesses some of the most impressive medieval buildings in Ireland.  Cashel Irish Cream is made with barrel aged Irish Whiskey, Irish Spirits, fresh Irish Cream, and caramel color.  The aroma leads with butterscotch.  Additional time brings out cream and black licorice.  The sweet whiskey, cream, and butterscotch entry is joined by chocolate milk building to a butterscotch milkshake peak.  It fades with cocoa and finishes with black licorice, oak, dark chocolate, dairy cream, and butterscotch.
