Review: El Nivel Tequila Blanco
El Nivel Tequila is a family owned tequila brand founded by Alejandro Barajas. It was originally distilled at NOM 1549, Destilador Refugio and has since moved to their current distillery Tequila Las Americas. Today we are reviewing El Nivel Tequila Blanco. They also produce a Reposado, Anejo, Extra Anejo, and two flavored tequilas including Ghost Pepper, and Cucumber. El Nivel is made from 100% organic blue agave, single estate grown in the Lowland region. Once hand selected the agave is trimmed and baked for 72 hours in a brick oven and small batch distilled. The aroma leads with earthy agave. Additional time brings out citrus, vanilla, smoke and herbal notes. The sweet agave entry is joined by vanilla building to a black pepper, lime, and buttery agave peak. It fades with herbal agave, and finishes with vanilla, lime peel, and black pepper.
