Review: Medoyeff Vodka
Lee Medoff and Christian Krogstad Co-Founded House Spirits and released Medoyeff Vodka in 2004. Medoyeff Vodka is a salute to Lee Medoff and his Russian family heritage. Lee Medoff is a third generation Oregonian. His Grandfather Alexander Medoyeff eventually settled in Oregon after leaving Russia in the Russian Revolution. Lee started as a brewer at McMenamins before co-founding House Spirits. Their first spirits were Medoyeff and Aviation Vodka. In 2010 Lee left House Spirits and started Bull Run Distillery bringing Medoyeff Vodka with him. Medoyeff Vodka is distilled from 100% corn and pure spring water from the Cascade Mountains. The aroma leads with yellow corn, orange peel, and black pepper. The citrus and sweet corn entry is joined by vanilla building to an orange and corn bread peak. It fades with orange and milky Corn Chex cereal, and finishes with anise, fresh grain, orange zest, and black pepper.
