Menage a Trois Triple Citrus vodka is one of three vodka’s launched by the Trinchero Family Estates June 2014. The other two include an unflavored and a triple berry flavor. This is the same Menage a Trois that has been creating California wines for 15 years. Their vodka is made with American corn and California Mountain spring water. It is distilled six times and triple filtered. All natural flavor from California lemons, and oranges and limes from the West Indies and Baja California are then infused before bottling at 80 proof.The aroma is a blend of citrus. With each sniff of the glass I pick up alternating scents of orange, lemon, and lime. The flavor enters with lemon and is followed by orange building to a tart peak before fading with a mild mouth warming, the taste of vodka and lime zest. The finish takes on the feel of a dissolving lime sweet tart. Additional sips blend the flavors together until the bitter lime and vodka finish. There is less heat with Citrus than with their Triple Berry Vodka, but I find Menage a Trois Citrus is a very flavorful vodka that would be best enjoyed in a cocktail.
