Review: Cuestion Tequila Blanco

by Jeff Ellingson

Cuestion Blanco - CopyCuestion Tequila Blanco was introduced in the US in 2011.  It is crafted with 100% Blue Weber agave that was grown for ten years.  The pina is cut in half and roasted for 72 hours undergoing two rounds of great pressure and high temperature, softening the fibers and caramelizing the plants natural sugars.  The pinas are then pressed and the juice is fermented before it is double distilled.  The aroma is citrus and agave with a touch of pepper.  The sweet citrus flavor is joined by roasted agave and vanilla building to a lemon citrus peak.  It finishes smooth and dry with a sprinkle of pepper and a mild sting.  This is a very tasty tequila that can be sipped on the rocks, or savored in a cocktail.  The bottle is pretty cool too.
