Crystal Head vodka was developed by Dan Aykroyd and it was introduced September 2008. It is crafted with Peaches and Cream corn grown in Ontario Canada, and distilled four times in a column still, and then blended with pristine glacial water from Newfoundland Canada. It is then filtered seven times with three of those, through layers of Herkimer diamonds. Crystal Head contains no additives, no sugar, nothing to enhance or mask the taste. The Crystal Head bottle was designed by John Alexander and manufactured at Milan Italy based Bruni Glass.The aroma is soft creamy corn with vanilla. The sweet entry has a soft creamy feel and is soon joined by sweet corn and butterscotch taste building to a vanilla flavored peak. It fades with a hint of licorice, a sprinkle of pepper, and a touch of heat, with a dry mineral finish. While I enjoyed the Peaches and Cream corn driven taste, the finish had a little more heat, sting, and charcoal flavor than I expected. That said Crystal Head is certainly smooth enough to drink on the rocks, and the sweet creamy taste of this vodka will make some tasty cocktails.
