Review: Punk N Harvest Ale

by Jeff Ellingson

Punk n Harvest - CopyPunk N Harvest Ale is one of 20 beers brewed throughout the year in Salt Lake City using 100% renewable power at the Uinta Brewery.  The brewery is named after an east west mountain range in Northeastern Utah.  Uinta started brewing beer in a small renovated mechanics garage in 1993 and in 2001 they built a brand new 26,000 square foot brewery.  Punk N Harvest is an ale brewed with barley malt, organic pumpkin, and organic spices. It pours to a pumpkin orange color with a thick tan head.  The aroma is pumpkin with malt and cinnamon.  The pumpkin flavored entry is thick and creamy building to a sweet malty caramel peak.  The lightly hoped and spiced finish is lead by cinnamon flavor.  Punk N Harvest Ale is a lightly spiced creamy ale that has more pumpkin than spice taste but it remains among the best tasting pumpkin ales on the market today.
