Review: Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila

by Jeff Ellingson

Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila - CopyTres Agaves Blanco Tequila was introduced in 2010.  The tequila was originally produced and named for the Tres Agaves restaurants in California.  It is made with 100% blue agave that is slow baked in autoclave ovens.  The agave is shredded to extract the juice and is then slow fermented, and double distilled in small single batch pot stills. The baked agave aroma has citrus and pepper.  The sweet vanilla entry is joined by pear influenced fruit taste that builds to an orange peak.  It fades with a warm peppery sting and raisin taste, finishing with dry mineral taste.  This is a tasty tequila that is very sip worthy, and the fruit flavor will mix well in your favorite tequila cocktail.
