Review: Ciroc Vodka
Ciroc Vodka was first introduced by Diageo in the US in 2003. In 2007 they partnered with Sean Diddy Combs. With the recent release of Ciroc Apple there are now seven members of the Ciroc Vodka product line, including Amaretto, Coconut, Peach, Pineapple, and Red Berry. Ciroc is crafted in Southern France from the juice of Ugni Blanc grapes that are distilled four times in a stainless steel column still and the juice from Mauzac Blanc grapes that are distilled once in a copper continuous still. Once distilled they are blended together and distilled a final time in a copper pot still by Master Distiller Jean-Sebastien Robicquet at Distillerie de Chevanceaux in the South of France. The aroma is lemon, grape and mint. The sweet grape entry is joined by lemon building to a grape lemonade peak. Ciroc feels very soft and creamy. It fades with mineral taste and texture, and finishes with anise and a warm peppery sting. After several sips the peppery sting softens and the overall feel is thick and creamy, but the mineral and anise flavored finish remain. The fruit profile of Ciroc is tasty enough to serve on the rocks, but not so flavorful as to limit your cocktail options.
