Malibu Pineapple Upside Down Cake Rum Image - CopyMalibu Pineapple Upside Down Cake Rum was just released.  It is the 14th member of the Malibu family of rums.  Each flavor starts with molasses from the finest sugarcane crops and pure water.  After fermenting with a proprietary yeast it is distilled 3 times at the West Indies Distillery in Barbados.  Coconut liqueur and flavors including pineapple are infused with the rum in Canada before bottling at 42 proof.The aroma is pineapple, coconut, butterscotch, and cake.  Juicy pineapple flavor bursts from the glass.  Vanilla and coconut flavor arrive building to a vanilla frosted pineapple cupcake peak.  It fades with coconut and light butterscotch flavor and finishes with a mild rum burn.  Malibu Pineapple Upside Down Cake rum is sweet but not oversweet.  With natural cake, and pineapple flavor the overall taste is what I would hope for, but not expect from a pineapple upside down cake rum.  Well done Malibu.
