Review: Don Q Coco Rum
Don Q Coco rum is one of four flavored rums produced in Puerto Rico by the Serralles family where they have been distilling rum since 1865. Don Q Coco starts with sugarcane which is crushed and boiled to create molasses. The molasses is combined with water from the Rio Inabon and a proprietary yeast which starts the fermentation process. The rum is then distilled to remove unwanted elements before a minimum one year of aging in American White Oak Barrels. The rum is then charcoal filtered before only natural ingredients including rich coconut are infused before bottling at 21% alcohol on site at the distillery. Read more
