Review: Malibu Original Coconut Rum

Malibu original coconut - CopyMalibu Original Coconut rum was not only the first coconut flavored rum, it was the Caribbeans first flavored rum.  Malibu It is made with rum distilled at the West Indies Distillery in Barbados and bottled in Canada.  The rum starts with molasses from the finest sugarcane crops and it is distilled three times.  Natural coconut flavor is added before bottling at 21% alcohol.  Malibu Coconut rum is still the worlds best selling coconut flavored rum and it is one of thirteen rum flavors Malibu currently makes. Review: Whalers Killer Coconut Rum

whalers killer coconut - CopyWhalers Killer Coconut rum is one of eight rum flavors Whalers creates that start with rum made according to an old Hawaiian recipe.  Whalers is one of five rum brands owned by their parent company Heaven Hill in Bardstown Kentucky.  It is triple distilled before natural coconut and pure vanilla flavor is added.  They claim to use 25% more natural coconut flavor and they bottle it at 20% alcohol which is the lightest alcohol content I’ve seen for a coconut flavored rum.   Read more »
