Tower Vodka was just launched. It is crafted in Pilot Point Texas. The town is located at the highest point in a series of rolling hills. A water tower looms above Pilot Point Texas and is the inspiration for Tower Vodka. Tower is made from corn and is micro batch distilled six times. Distribution is currently limited. Review: Opulent Vodka
Opulent Vodka is made from American-bred corn and distilled five times and filtered to a quality of less than one micron. Water purified in a three bed deionization process is then blended to reduce to proof. Opulent is made in Princeton Minnesota and is part of the Prestige Wine and Spirits Group. They also produce Opulent Passion, a passion fruit flavored vodka. Read more
Review: American Plains Vodka
American Plains Vodka is made in Princeton Minnesota with 100% American grown corn and water extracted from a crystal clear aquifer. The vodka is distilled 5 times and charcoal filtered. I picked this up at Total Wine and More where they have dozens of spirit brands I have never heard of before. American Plains Vodka is one of several that are distilled in Princeton Minnesota. What made American Plains stand out from the other brands on the stores shelf was the staff recommendation, and the 93 it had scored from the Beverage Testing Institute. I have sampled several vodkas made from 100% corn that were distilled in Princeton Minnesota. Let’s see if this one stands out. Read more
Review: Rain Vodka
Rain Vodka was introduced in 1997. They also produce a Cucumber, and Mango flavored vodka. In 2014 Rain dropped the organic from their label and replaced it with natural. Both are made with corn and made in small batches. The vodka undergoes an extensive production process that includes seven distinct distillations. A polishing stage follows that adds pure limestone water. The original recipe was made with organic corn grown on Fizzle Flats Farms in Yale Illinois. It was also filtered through charcoal and diamond dust. No sourcing or filtering information is available about the currently produced Rain. Read more

Smithworks Vodka was just released. It is made from corn grown in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma and pure water from Lake Fort Smith. Smithworks is distilled three times and charcoal filtered. The vodka is distilled in Kansas and finished and bottled by Smithworks Vodka in Fort Smith Arkansas. Blake Shelton and Pernod Richard, the parent company of Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin and Malibu Rum are part of the Smithworks Vodka family of owners. Review: Pearl Vodka
Pearl Vodka was introduced in 2000. Pearl is made in Alberta Canada in small batches with pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat. Two pounds of this wheat is needed to create one bottle of Pearl. The vodka is distilled five times and filtered six times before bottling at 80 proof. Pearl currently crafts 18 varieties of vodka. Review: Bet Vodka
Bet Vodka was recently launched in Minnesota. The vodka pronounced beet, was created by Ben Brueshoff and Jerad Poling, and is distilled in New Richmond Wisconsin at the 45th Parallel Distillery. It is crafted from locally grown sugar beets that travel from farm fields to a cooperative where they are processed into granulated beet sugar. The beet sugar is then dissolved into water and nutrients. After a 2 week fermentation it is distilled three times and then blended with filtered water. The vodka is filtered through active carbon and bottled at 80 proof. 20% of the worlds sugar production comes from sugar beets, with Russia, France, and the United States producing the most. Review: Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
Smirnoff No. 21 vodka is not only the worlds best selling vodka, it is the worlds best selling spirit. Pyotr Smirnoff first opened his distillery in Moscow in 1864 and after this distillery was nationalized by the Tsar, the family escaped Russia and moved several times finally settling in the Ukraine. Today Smirnoff is produced in several locations world wide including the US, where it is made with Midwest grown grain and produced in Plainfield Illinois. Review: Fuzzys Ultra Premium Vodka
Fuzzys Ultra Premium vodka was introduced in 2009. The vodka was named for and created by PGA Golfer Fuzzy Zoeller. Fuzzy won 10 PGA Tournaments in his career including the 1979 Masters and 1984 US Open. Fuzzy spent four years creating this vodka that is made from American corn. It is distilled five times and then filtered 10 times through charcoal and crushed lava rock. After distilling, a portion of the distillate is rested in new oak barrels. Pure Cascade Mountain Spring water is blended with the spirit to reduce to 80 proof. Read more
Review: Square One Organic Vodka
Square One Organic Vodka was introduced in April 2006. It is one of five vodka’s created under the Square One label. The others include Cucumber, Botanical, Basil, and Bergamot. The entire Square One Vodka product line was selected as part of Oprah’s 2015 favorite things list. This female owned and operated company is lead by company CEO and founder Allison Evanow. Square One vodka is crafted with certified organic American Rye grown in North Dakota and pristine water sourced from a 200 foot deep aquifer in the Teton Mountain Range at the Distilled Resources Distillery in Rigby Idaho. A small batch single four column continuous distillation process is used followed by a single filtration through a micron paper filter. Read more
