Hangar One Buddahs Hand Citron vodka is one of four vodka’s currently crafted with Midwestern wheat, distilled in a custom built column still, and viognier grapes distilled in a copper pot still. Hangar One is named after the World War II era hangar at the old Alameda Navel Air Station where is was first created. Whole Buddah’s Hand Citrus fruit is macerated and infused before bottling at 80 proof. Buddah’s hand fruit is primarily used to perfume rooms and clothing in China and Japan and is named for the shape of the fruit which appears to look like a hand with fingers. Read more

Hangar One vodka was introduced in 2002. It was crafted as a collaboration between Ansely Coale from Germain-Ronbin and Jorg Rupf from St. George Spirits. Hangar One Kaffir Lime vodka is one of four vodka flavors they make in small batches from a blend of pot distilled Viognier grapes and column distilled American wheat. The whole fruit and leaves of Kaffir lime trees are then macerated and infused. The Kaffir lime is native to Indonesia and it is easily identified by it’s bumpy skin. Read more

Hangar One Fraser River Raspberry vodka is crafted in small batches once a year with their original Hangar One vodka as a base. It is made with a blend of pot distilled Vigonier grapes and column distilled American grown wheat. Fresh red Meeker raspberries from the Fraser River Valley in Washington are macerated and distilled with this vodka. Raspberry juice is later blended before bottling in a dark green UV bottle to protect the delicate raspberry. Hangar One was acquired by Proximo in 2010, and while they have moved the distillation to a hangar across the street, they have not changed how they craft the vodka. However, Fraser River Raspberry, Spiced Pear, and Chipotle are three vodka flavors that no longer appear on the Hangar One website. Read more

Hangar One Mandarin Blossom vodka is one of five vodka flavors they make in small batches from a blend of pot distilled Viognier grapes and column distilled American wheat. The fruit and the blossoms from Mandarin trees are then infused. 50 pounds of Mandarin blossoms are used for each bottling. Hangar one was acquired by Proximo in 2010, but it continued to be distilled at the St George owned distillery until recently, when they opened their own brand new distillery in a building next door. Hangar One is named after the World War II era hangar at the old Alameda Naval Air Station where they first created Hangar One vodka in 2002. It is one of five vodka flavors they make in small batches from a blend of pot distilled Viognier grapes and Column still distilled American wheat. The fresh juice from fresh Maine wild blueberries is blended with the vodka. Wild blueberries are smaller but sweeter than regular blueberries. Read more
