Review: Simply Spiked Lemonade Variety Pack
Simply Spiked Lemonade was just released and it is available in a four flavor, 12 can variety pack. Coca-Cola and Molson Coors have once again partnered in creating the brand. They also collaborated on Topo Chico Hard Seltzer. Coca-Cola acquired the Minute Maid brand in 1960. It was their first non soft drink acquisition. In 2001 Minute Maid launched Simply Orange made from 100% never frozen never from concentrate orange juice. Simply is now Coca-Cola’s second largest brand generating over $1 billion in revenue. Simply Orange is the second best selling orange juice brand in the US only trailing the Pepsi-Cola Company owned Tropicana brand in orange juice sales. In 2006 they launched Simply Lemonade made from pure filtered water, non-GMO lemon juice, cane sugar, and natural flavors. They have since added Simply Light Lemonade which is made with a blend of sugar and stevia. Simply Spiked Lemonade is made from a fermented cane sugar base with natural flavors and 5% real fruit juice including lemon juice from concentrate and flavor specific fruit juice concentrates. Like Simply Lemonade Light it is made with a blend of sugar and stevia extract. The main challenge I see with the brand is that each 12 ounce can weighs in with 170 calories and 18 sugar grams. The leading hard seltzer lemonade brands produced by Truly, Bud Light, White Claw, and Vizzy all tip the scale with only 100 calories, and no more than 1 sugar gram. On paper Simply Spiked Lemonade aligns more with Mikes Hard Lemonade and the 220 calories and 32 sugar grams found in each bottle of Mikes. Read more 
Review: Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade Variety Pack
The Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade Variety Pack was released last month. Smirnoff has been making hard seltzer since they introduced their Spiked and Sparkling Seltzer in three flavors November 2016. Those flavors were Cranberry Lime, Watermelon, and Orange Mango. They have continued to tweak their recipes over the years, but they continue to produce their seltzer with a premium malt base. This is the same alcohol base they use in their Smirnoff Ice brand. Mikes Hard Lemonade also is made from a premium malt base. Most of the hard seltzers on the market today start with a fermented sugar or dextrose alcohol base. Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade is sold in a 4 flavor 12 can variety pack. Review: White Claw REFRESHR Lemonade
White Claw REFRESHR Lemonade will soon be arriving at your favorite adult beverage locations. This is Mark Anthony Brands second hard seltzer lemonade. They launched Mikes Hard Lemonade Seltzer January of 2021, driven by the success of Truly Hard Seltzer Lemonade and the 10% hard seltzer market share they achieved in their first year. One things for sure, the growth of hard seltzer has been driven by product innovation, and if one brand finds success, another will soon follow. Currently there are over a dozen hand seltzer lemonade variety packs on the market, but the White Claw name opens a lot of doors and if space is limited, a local or region hard seltzer brand will lose their shelf or cooler space. Review: SeekOut Seltzer Lemonade
SeekOut Seltzer Lemonade is one of two new 12 can variety packs released June 2021 by 2 Towns Ciderhouse. The other variety pack, Tropical, replaced the Original SeekOut Seltzer variety pack. They brought back SeekOut Pineapple and Passion Fruit, and they reformulated and renamed SeekOut Key Lime + Mint to SeekOut Key Lime Mojito. They replaced two of my favorite hard seltzers, SeekOut Raspberry and Meyer Lemon, and SeekOut Clementine + Grapefruit with Apricot Mango and Kiwi Blackberry. The good news is SeekOut Raspberry and Meyer Lemon has been rebranded to Raspberry Lemonade and moved to their Lemonade variety pack. Each 12 oz. can of SeekOut Lemonade Seltzer weighs in with 5% alcohol, and 100 calories. They are crafted with water, apple wine, Meyer Lemon juice, natural flavors and flavor specific fruit juice. Absent from the ingredient list is Stevia which is used in most of the other hard seltzer lemonades on the market today. Read more
Review: Bold Rock Hard Lemonade Seltzer Variety Pack
Bold Rock Hard Lemonade Seltzer was released March 2021. Bold Rock is best known for their award winning hard cider, but they also produce Bold Rock Hard Tea, Bold Rock Hard Lemonade, and Bold Rock Craft Cocktails. Bold Rock first entered the hard seltzer market with the release of Bold Rock Grapefruit and Bold Rock Cucumber Melon Hard Seltzer June 2019. Unlike the Original Bold Rock Hard Seltzers that are made from a fruit alcohol base, Bold Rock Hard Lemonade Seltzers are made from a sugar alcohol base. Purified water, natural flavors, stevia, carbon dioxide, and citric acid complete the ingredient list. Read more
Review: Good Company Lemonade Hard Seltzer
Good Company Lemonade Hard Seltzer was launched May 2021 by Breckenridge Brewery. Like Good Company Original Hard Seltzer, it is sold in a 5 flavor 15 can variety pack. Why purchase a lemonade hard seltzer variety pack with only 4 flavors when you can get one with 5? The Breckenridge Brewery was opened in 1990 by Richard Squire in Breckenridge Colorado. It is the third oldest brewery in Colorado. In 2015 they opened their current location in Littleton Colorado while still keeping their Original brewery and pub open. In 2016 they were acquired by AB. Each of the five flavor varieties of Good Company Lemonade Hard Seltzer is made from a cold fermented cane sugar base. Lemon Juice, natural flavors , cane sugar, variety specific fruit juice, and because its an AB hard seltzer malted rice are added. Each 12 oz. can weighs in with 4% alcohol with 4%-5% fruit juice. Three Birds Lemonade Hard Seltzer is one of three 12 can 4 flavor variety packs sold under the Three Birds label. Three Birds Hard Seltzer is a value priced hard seltzer brand produced by Leveche Corp. in Mira Loma California and sold exclusively at Total Wine and More stores located throughout the US. Three Birds Lemonade Hard Seltzer is made from a wine alcohol base, natural lemon juice concentrate, natural lemon flavor, cane sugar, stevia, and purified carbonated water. Natural fruit specific flavors differentiate each flavor variant. Read more
Review: Mystic Reef Hard Seltzer Lemonade
Mystic Reef Hard Seltzer Lemonade is available in a four flavor 12 can variety pack. It is made at Full Sail Brewing Company in Hood River Oregon and is sold exclusively at Target Stores. It joins the previously released and reviewed Mystic Reef Hard Seltzer variety pack. Mystic Reef claims their flavor is the result of a world class filtration process along with the highest quality natural fruit flavors. While no source of alcohol is listed on their ingredient list they do hint at a malt base. It appears you can no longer be considered a player in the hard seltzer arena unless you have both a regular hard seltzer and hard seltzer lemonade variety pack. Mystic Reef Hard Seltzer Lemonade is the 8th hard seltzer lemonade variety pack we are reviewing. A quick glance at the Total Wine website shows me there are at least eight other hard seltzer lemonade variety packs left to review. Some question the staying power of Hard Seltzers. I am not one of those people, and I now no longer doubt the staying power of Hard Seltzer Lemonades. Read more
Review: Shiner Straight Shooter Lemonade Hard Seltzer
Shiner Straight Shooter Lemonade Hard Seltzer was recently released in a 4 flavor 12 can variety pack. It joins the previously released Shiner Straight Shooter Hard Seltzer 4 flavor 12 can variety pack that was launched August 2020. It also joins an ever growing list of hard seltzer lemonades that have arrived this calendar year. Both Shiner hard seltzers are crafted at Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner Texas. Kosmos Spoetzl was born in Bavaria. When he arrived in Shiner Texas in 1909 he purchased the towns brewery and he became Shiners first Brewmaster, a position he held for almost 50 years. Shiner Straight Shooter Lemonade Hard Seltzer is made with filtered carbonated water, alcohol from cane sugar, natural flavors, citric acid, cane sugar, and stevia leaf extract. Review: Corona Limonada
Corona Limonada was just released. It joins the growing list of hard seltzer lemonades that by my count now number seven brands. This is Corona’s third 12 can 4 flavor variety pack they have released in 14 months. It seems to be paying off as Corona is already the fourth best selling hard seltzer on the market today. Corona Limonada is made with carbonated water, alcohol from sugar, cane sugar, natural flavors, Mexican lime juice concentrate, citric acid, and lemon juice concentrate.
