Review: Marble Gingercello
Marble Gingercello was introduced in 2015 along with Marble Vodka 80, and Moonlight EXpresso. They have since added Gingercello Reserve, a barrel aged Gingercello. Bourbon and whiskey are currently aging at the distillery, and will be released in 2017. Each of these spirits is hand crafted at the Marble Distilling Company in Carbondale Colorado, about 30 minutes from Aspen. The distillery takes its name from Marble Colorado. The marble used to make the columns for the Lincoln Memorial, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier comes from Marble Colorado. In crafting Gingercello, Head Distiller Connie Baker starts with a 60% ABV corn distillate. She redistills this in a 250 gallon Vendome Copper Pot still with vapor transferring through a botanical basket filled with fresh cut Brazilian ginger. There is macerated ginger in the belly of the still as well. The now 80 % ABV ginger infused vodka is left to rest for several weeks with lemons zested by hand to ensure only the sweetest part of the lemon is utilized. A light simple syrup made from beet sugar grown in Wyoming, is blended with the ginger lemon vodka, before bottling at 70 proof. Read more

Review: Evangelines Pralines and Cream Liqueur
Evangelines Pralines and Cream Liqueur is Sazerac Co. take on a very southern treat. They also produce a Praline Liqueur. I don’t think this product is brand new but almost no information is available. Pecans have become increasingly popular in flavored spirits, including several whiskeys and a couple of vodkas. While there have also been a couple of pecan pie flavored spirits, Evangelines Praline Pecan Liqueur is the only other praline flavored spirit I’m aware of. Read more

Review: FOS Greek Mastiha Liqueur
FOS Greek Mastiha Liqueur is crafted on the small Greek island of Chios with a resin from the Mastiha tree, also known as the crying tree. This evergreen shrub has a lifespan of over 100 years and is grown and cultivated exclusively on this island. The Mastiha trees get pricked and delicately sliced at the surface. It takes several weeks to collect the crying mastiha resin that falls from the openings in the tree. Once collected the resin is washed with olive oil soap and rainwater, and mixed with fine quality alcohol and put in large bronze tanks and heated carefully by wood fire. Once distilled it is blended with a proprietary mix of other ingredients. After inspection and testing it is bottled at 56 proof. Read more
Review: Landucci Limoncello
Landucci Limoncello is made in Sorrento Italy from Ovale de Sorrento lemon peels and grain spirits. It is imported by Distiller Sales in Princeton Minnesota and sold exclusively through Total Wine and More. Little product information, and no website is available for this private label brand. With dozens of brands of limoncello on the market, and over a dozen to choose from at Total Wine and More alone, Landucci Limoncello is the one their sales associate recommended. Read more
Review: Rogue Cow Peaches and Cream Liqueur
Rogue Cow Peaches and Cream Liqueur is made with whiskey and smooth real cream. By my count this is the second peach whiskey cream liqueur on the market. Jackson Morgan Peaches and Cream Southern Cream Liqueur was the first. Rogue Cow is created and packaged by private label bottler Lavecke in Mira Loma California. Very little product information is available on the bottle and I have not found a website for Rogue Cow. I picked up a bottle at a Kroger Grocery Store where they also sold Rogue Cow Cookies and Cream Liqueur. Read more
