Review: Western Son High Plains Raspberry Vodka
Western Son High Plains Raspberry vodka was just released. It joins a flavored vodka lineup that includes Peach, Cucumber, Lime, Blueberry, Watermelon, Prickly Pear, and Grapefruit. They also produce Western Son Original unflavored vodka. The Western Son brand was launched in 2011. The distillery is located in the former Old Panty Factory in Pilot Point Texas. Each flavor starts with their original unflavored vodka made from a mash of Midwest and Texas Yellow corn. Once the corn is milled water sourced from a local aquifer further filtered through reverse osmosis is added to the mash. After fermenting, the vodka is distilled ten times. First in a copper pot still. The spirit is then distilled in a 20 foot column still containing 13 perforated copper plates. Review: New Amsterdam Raspberry Vodka
New Amsterdam Raspberry Vodka was just released. This is New Amsterdam’s ninth flavored vodka. New Amsterdam Lemon was also recently introduced. These two flavors should not be confused with New Amsterdam Citron made with Lemon and Lime flavor, or New Amsterdam Red Berry made with Blackberry, Strawberry and Raspberry flavor. New Amsterdam Vodka is part of the growing line of spirits produced by E&J Gallo, that includes New Amsterdam Gin, Shellback Rum, Rum Haven Coconut Rum, Familia Camarena Tequila, and E&J Brandy. Review: UV Blue Vodka
UV Blue Vodka was introduced in 2001. If you haven’t tasted this vodka before you probably haven’t been in college for at least ten years. It was the first of the now 22 vodka varieties UV creates with Midwest grown yellow corn. UV distills their vodka four times before purified water from deep aquifers in Princeton Minnesota that has been filtered through carbon and reverse osmosis is added to reduce to proof. Review: Finlandia Raspberry Vodka
Finlandia Raspberry vodka was released in July 2011. It is one of ten flavored vodka’s they craft in Kaskenkora Finland. They start with the finest six row barley. After the barley is fermented, a seven column continuous distillation process is used with more than 200 distillation steps to remove impurities. Pure glacial water from the Rajamaki Spring is blended to reduce the proof. All natural raspberry flavor is infused before bottling at 75 proof. Read more

Krol Lemon Raspberry vodka is made in Poland with late harvest Polish rye and pure mountain spring water. It is distilled four times and filtered six times. Natural lemon and raspberry flavor is infused before bottling at 80 proof. Krol is Polish for King, and they claim their vodka was a favorite among the Polish aristocracy since the early 1820’s. Chambord vodka was introduced in 2010. It is the follow up to their successful liqueur, and is created with premium French vodka that is infused with Chambord liqueur. Review: Van Gogh Raspberry Vodka
Van Gogh Raspberry vodka was introduced in 2001. It is one of 22 flavored vodka’s they craft in Holland. A blend of wheat, corn and barley are double distilled in a column still. A third distillation in a copper pot still, in small batches follows. Purified water is blended to reduce the proof. Imported fresh red raspberries from Germany are infused with the vodka using a six week double infusion process before bottling at 70 proof. Read more
Review: Hangar One Fraser River Raspberry Vodka
Hangar One Fraser River Raspberry vodka is crafted in small batches once a year with their original Hangar One vodka as a base. It is made with a blend of pot distilled Vigonier grapes and column distilled American grown wheat. Fresh red Meeker raspberries from the Fraser River Valley in Washington are macerated and distilled with this vodka. Raspberry juice is later blended before bottling in a dark green UV bottle to protect the delicate raspberry. Hangar One was acquired by Proximo in 2010, and while they have moved the distillation to a hangar across the street, they have not changed how they craft the vodka. However, Fraser River Raspberry, Spiced Pear, and Chipotle are three vodka flavors that no longer appear on the Hangar One website. Read more
Review: Charbay Red Raspberry Vodka
Charbay Red Raspberry vodka is one of six vodka flavors the Karakasevic family creates in Napa Valley with their clear unflavored vodka made with Midwest grown corn and rye as a base. They also create whiskey, tequila, rum, brandy and liqueurs. They use a classic 660 gallon still along with a proprietary distillation process and distill to 192 proof. Pure spring water that has been filtered to 3PPM purity is used to reduce to 80 proof. One batch of Red Raspberry is made each year with whole fresh red raspberries from the Williamette Valley of Oregon. Pearl Red Berry Vodka is one of 18 flavored vodkas St. Louis based Luxco creates under the Pearl label. Unlike the other Red Berry vodka’s on the market, Pearl Red Berry is not a blend of several red berries but rather a vodka made with only one red berry, fresh ripe raspberry. It is crafted in micro batches in Canada with pure water from Canadian Rocky mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat. It is distilled five times and filtered six times before natural flavors including fresh ripe raspberries are infused. Read more
