Review: Malibu Peaches N Cream Rum
Malibu Peaches N Cream rum will soon be hitting store shelves. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle a little early. It is one of 14 flavored rums they create with their Original Coconut rum as a base. Malibu starts with molasses from the finest sugarcane crops and it is distilled three times at the West Indies distillery in Barbados. Natural coconut flavored liqueur and peach and cream flavors are blended before bottling in Canada at 42 proof. Read more
Review: Bacardi Big Apple Rum
Bacardi Big Apple rum was introduced in 2005. It is one or 15 flavored rums they create in Puerto Rico. It is made with molasses and a single strain of yeast, Le Levadura Bacardi that undergoes a 30 hour fermentation in closed fermentation tanks. After fermentation the fermented molasses is divided with some column still and some beer still distilled. Each is aged separately in lightly charred American white oak barrels. Once mature the rums are blended and filtered through a mix of charcoal made from tropical woods and coconut shells. It is infused with Fuji, Golden Delicious, and Granny Smith apples before it is bottled at 70 proof. Read more

Captain Morgan Coconut rum was just launched along with a pineapple and grapefruit flavor. This should not be confused with their Parrot Bay line of 42 proof flavored rums. This line of flavored rums weigh in at 70 proof and they use their Captain Morgan White rum as a base. It is crafted in St. Croix with fine cane molasses and it is distilled 5 times and aged for over 1 year in oak barrels.
