Review: Malibu Strawberry Rum
Malibu Strawberry joins a flavor lineup that already includes Original Malibu, Malibu Lime, Malibu Pineapple, Malibu Mango, Malibu Passion Fruit, Malibu Tropical Banana, Malibu Black, and Malibu Red. Malibu Strawberry is not the first strawberry flavored rum on the market, we have already reviewed Cruzan Strawberry and Parrot Bay Strawberry. It is also not Malibu’s first strawberry rum, they introduced Malibu Swirl Strawberries and Cream, May 2012, but later discontinued production. As with all Malibu flavored rums they start with a rum base triple distilled at West Indies Distillery in Barbados. The rum is made from molasses created with Caribbean cane sugar and pure water. A proprietary yeast is used to ferment prior to distillation. The rum is then shipped to Canada where it is blended with a Strawberry Liqueur and bottled at 42 proof. Read more 
Review: Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum
Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum was introduced May 2009. It is one of 15 flavored rums they create in Puerto Rico. They start with molasses and a single strain of yeast, Le Levadura Bacardi and ferment for 30 hours in closed fermentation tanks. After fermentation the fermented rum is divided with some column and some beer distilled. They are aged separately in lightly charred American white oak barrels previously used to age bourbon. Once mature the rums are blended and filtered through a mix of charcoal made from tropical woods and coconut shells. It is then infused with natural flavors including strawberry and dragon fruit before bottling at 70 proof. Read more
Review: Malibu Swirl Strawberries and Whipped Cream
Malibu Swirl Strawberries and Whipped Cream was introduced in May 2012 with their Sundae Chocolate Ice Cream flavor. It is made in Canada with rum from Barbados which starts with molasses from the finest sugarcane crops and is distilled three times. Natural coconut liqueur and strawberry and whipped cream flavors are added before bottling at 21% alcohol. Read more

Cruzan Strawberry rum was introduced May 2011, and it is one of 13 rum flavors Cruzan currently creates. It is made in St. Croix using a five column distillation process all natural flavors and cane sugar. It is bottled at 21% alcohol. Read more
