Review: Truly Strawberry Lemonade Vodka
Since it’s launch in 2016 Truly Hard Seltzer has enjoyed a meteoric rise in sales. Much of this increase in sales is the result of product innovation. After coming up with dozens of flavor variations of hard seltzer, Boston Beer Works collaborated with Beam Suntory in creating Truly Vodka in three flavors including Pineapple Mango and Wild Berry. Truly Strawberry Lemonade is made with a vodka base made from 100% corn. The vodka is triple distilled. 5% juice, natural flavors and certified colors are added before bottling at 60 proof. Review: Grey Goose Essences Strawberry & Lemongrass
Grey Goose has just released Grey Goose Essences a new vodka infused with real fruit and botanical essences. They join a growing list of 0 sugar 0 carb botanical infused vodkas that include the Smirnoff Zero Sugar Infusions, Ketel One Botanical, Svedka Pure Infusions, and Prairie Organic Sustainable Season brands. Grey Goose Essences come in three varieties, Strawberry & Lemongrass, Watermelon & Basil, and White Peach & Rosemary. Grey Goose Strawberry & Lemongrass starts with a vodka made from soft winter wheat grown on farms in Picardy, Northern France. Little production information is available except that cold distilled lemongrass is noted on the bottle. Cold Distillation is a process used by some in crafting gin. Original Grey Goose Vodka is distilled once using a five column distillation process. Pristine Gensac La Pallue Spring water naturally filtered through Champaign limestone in the Cognac Region of France is blended to reduce to proof. The vodka is filtered through cellulose and carbon. It would appear a similar process is used to craft their Essences line with the addition of cold distilled lemongrass, and a real fruit essence infusion. Read more
Review: Heart of Glass Strawberry Vodka
Heart of Glass Strawberry Vodka is crafted at Toledo Spirits Company in Toledo Ohio. At one time Toledo was the glass capital of the world earning the towns nickname Glass City. Toledo Spirits was founded by Andrew Newby, Lukas Kummer, and Dustin Wade. They released their first spirit, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in 2015. November 2016 they introduced Heart of Glass Strawberry Vodka. They currently also produce Heart of Gold Vodka, Orange Tiger Liqueur, East Side Gin, and Maumee Moonshine. Heart of Glass Strawberry is made from a 100% corn base that is distilled six times. Fresh Ohio strawberries grown at Polters Berry Farm in Fremont Ohio are macerated with the spirit before distilling a seventh time. One pound of fresh strawberries is needed to produce one 750 ml bottle. The vodka passes through a cartridge filter before bottling at 80 proof. Read more
Review: Svedka Pure Infusions Strawberry Guava
Svedka has just released Pure Infusions a new line of flavor infused vodka. At launch the three flavors include Strawberry Guava, Dragon Fruit Melon, and Ginger Lime. Each variety weighs in at 60 proof with 0 sugar, 0 carbs, and 70 calories per 1.5 oz. serving. Svedka distills their vodka in Sweden from Swedish Winter Wheat five times in a continuous distillation process. Ice cold water from Swedish springs is blended to reduce to proof. Review: Smirnoff Strawberry & Rose Zero Sugar Infusions
Smirnoff Strawberry & Rose Zero Sugar Infusions is one of three flavor variants in Smirnoff’s new Zero Sugar Infusions line of vodka. The other two flavors are Cucumber and Lime, and Watermelon and Mint. Vodka has long been the adult beverage of choice for those counting points and calories. An ice filled glass, a shot of Smirnoff, topped with your favorite flavored seltzer water, was, and is a popular healthier lifestyle option. That option has been challenged with the popularity of Hard Selzer’s. Turn about is fair play as Smirnoff Zero Sugar joins Ketel One Botanical in launching a sugar free flavor infused vodka. Smirnoff Zero Sugar is gluten free and infused with natural flavors and essence of real botanicals. Add a splash of soda and you are still sitting pretty at 72 calories per serving. Read more
Review: Absolut Juice Strawberry Edition
Absolut Juice Strawberry Edition was just released along with an Apple Edition. The bottles label hints at a seasonal release, with Summer notched for each of these two flavors. If you are a fan of flavored vodka’s, I’m sure you have already noticed several real fruit juice infused flavored vodka’s. Absolut Strawberry is made from Swedish winter wheat sourced from 450 local farms. One kilo of wheat is needed to produce one liter of vodka. The wheat is milled onsite, blended with water, a proprietary yeast, and fermented for 2 days. A continuous distillation process is used with steel column stills and copper plates. The spirit is filtered once through a mesh filter. Pure deep well water that comes from naturally filtered aquifers is softened through reverse osmosis and then blended with the spirit to reduce to proof. 5% real strawberry juice, and natural flavors are infused with the vodka before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Stoli Crushed Strawberry Vodka
Stoli Crushed Strawberry Vodka was just released. It joins the previously released Stoli Crushed Mango, Ruby Red Grapefruit, and Pineapple Vodka. If you have been a regular visitor of Best Tasting Spirits, or just someone who often visits their local liquor store, you will have noticed real juice flavor, has replaced natural flavor, as the go to ingredient in flavored vodka. A color that matches the flavor also appears to increase sales. Each Stoli Crushed variety starts with a vodka base made from a blend of 88 percent corn and 12 percent buckwheat harvested from the fertile farm fields of the Tambov region of Russia. The spirit is triple distilled and filtered four times. Pure natural spring water from an artesian well in Riva Latvia is blended with the vodka to reduce to proof. Real fruit juice, natural flavors, and certified colors are blended before bottling at 60 proof. Read more

Frankly Organic Strawberry Vodka was introduced June 2018 along with Frankly Organic Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Apple, and their unflavored original Frankly Organic Vodka. Each flavor starts with a vodka base made from 100% family farmed organic corn. The vodka is distilled in small batches in Austin Texas and each variety is certified organic by Oregon Tilth. Frankly Organic Strawberry is infused with organic strawberries harvested in California, organic apples, organic turmeric, organic ginger root, organic coconut water, organic lemon juice from Spain, Vermont Grade A maple syrup and natural flavors. Organic fruit and vegetable juice is added for color. 1% of revenue supports animal welfare causes. Read more
Review: Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka
Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka was released October 2016. I source spirits for review from over a dozen states. Distilleries and Wholesalers also send me product for review. At one time retailers would fight to be the first to stock any new flavor Pinnacle created in their lab. It has been several years since Pinnacle created a new flavor. When I heard of the release of Pinnacle Strawberry I searched everywhere to find it. I just found it tonight at a Total Wine and More in Minnesota. Pinnacle currently lists over 40 vodka flavors on their website including Kiwi-Strawberry, and Strawberry Shortcake. Pinnacle Vodka is made from French grown wheat and pure French spring water. It is distilled five times at Distillerie de la Tour in France. The vodka base is then shipped to Frankfort Kentucky where natural and artificial flavors are blended before bottling at 70 proof. Pearl Strawberry Basil Vodka is one of three vodka flavors Pearl released June 2015. Lime Basil, and Vanilla Bean are the other two. Pearl currently creates 16 flavors with two more soon to follow. Pearl vodka is crafted in micro batches from soft Canadian winter wheat and pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams. The vodka is distilled five times and filtered six times before natural flavors are infused. Read more
