Review: Pasote Blanco Tequila
Pasote Blanco Tequila is crafted at the El Pandillo Distillery with 100% Highland estate grown blue agave, by Master Distiller Felipe Camarena. Once harvested the agave hearts are slow cooked in traditional brick ovens, then shredded and crushed using a 19,000 pound steamroller. The agave juice is fermented for 4-5 days in stainless steel tanks and double distilled in copper pot stills. A mix of 40% rainwater and 60% spring water is blended to reduce to proof. Pasote is named for the fierce spirit of Aztec Warriors. Pasote Tequila is one of several spirits owned by the 3 Badge Beverage Company. Some of the others includes Kirk and Sweeny Rum, Uncle Val’s Gin, Bib and Tucker Bourbon, and Masterson’s Whiskey. Read more
Review: Tequila 512 Blanco
Tequila 512 Blanco was introduced November 2012 by Scott Willis who years earlier left Austin to go to Jalisco in search of the perfect anytime tequila. 512 is named for the Austin Texas area code. It is crafted by Master Distiller Luis Trejo at the La Cofradia Distillery with 100% Central Lowland estate grown agave. The agave is slow roasted in stone ovens and after fermenting the tequila is triple distilled in a stainless steel pot still. A 24 hour filtration follows with the tequila reduced to proof with volcanic spring water. The tequila is then oxygenated to enhance the texture for a softer more velvety feel, before bottling. Review: Cimarron Blanco Tequila
Cimarron Blanco Tequila is made by Enrique Fonseca, the Master Distiller of several tequila’s including Don Fulano, Asom Broso, and Antenom 1146. Cimarron is made with 100% estate grown Weber blue agave grown for about ten years in the Highland region at an elevation of 4600 feet. Each hand selected agave has an average brix of 24-26. This is twice the sugar content of the average agave. The pina’s are slow roasted for 2-3 days and then crushed. The juice is fermented using naturally occurring yeast and then double distilled in a copper alembic still. Cimarron Blanco is a tequila that has scored well with other reviewers. It is priced as a budget tequila. I picked up my bottle for 18.99, and as a bonus it is sold in 1 liter bottles. Read more
Review: Tierra Azteca Blanco Tequila
Tierra Azteca Blanco Tequila is produced in San Francisco Tesistan, Jalisco at Destileria Santa Lucia. This is the same distillery that creates the Amate, El Capo, and Grand Mayan brands of tequila. All right this is a tequila I purchased for $21 because I liked the bottle and price. I would have purchased it sooner but I tend to avoid tequilas that provide no details of their production on their website. This is a 100% agave tequila. No details on the agaves origin, Highland or Lowland are provided. Read more

The song has been used as walk up music for baseball closers John Smoltz and Mark Melancon, boxer Manny Pacquiao, and player introductions for the LA Kings and Tampa Bay Lightning.
