Review: Avion Tequila Silver
Avion Tequila Silver was introduced in 2010. If the name sounds familiar it may be the exposer the brand received from the HBO series Entourage. The agave used to craft Avion is grown in the small town of Jesus Maria by the Lopez family, a fifth generation agave grower, at 7000 feet above sea level in the highest elevation of Jalisco Mexico. The hand selected agave is slow roasted for 3 days in brick ovens. After fermentation, distillation occurs in a traditional pot still. The Master Distiller removes the heads and tails of the distillate and the process is continuously repeated to ensure a smooth finish. Because of this process 25-30% more agave is used to make each bottle of Avion. After distillation a proprietary ultra slow filtration taking 10 times longer than other tequila’s is used, before hand filling each bottle of Avion. Read more
