Review: Charbay Pomegranate Vodka
Charbay Pomegranate vodka is one of six flavored vodka’s the Karakasevic family crafts in Napa Valley with their unflavored vodka as a base. It is crafted with Midwest grown corn and rye. They use 660 gallon still along with a proprietary distillation process, and distill to 192 proof. Pure spring water that has been filtered to 3 PPM purity is used to reduce the proof. One batch of Pomegranate is made each year with organically grown tree ripe pomegranate at a family farm in Central California. Charbay only uses Wonderful Pomegranates, the sweetest and juiciest variety, and the only ones POM uses for their Pomegranate juice. The pomegranates are pressed at the orchard and rushed to the distillery. The flavor and color extraction process takes six months. The extraction is then gently blended with the vodka and it is bottled at 70 proof. Read more
Review: Hamptons Banana Vodka
Hamptons Banana vodka was introduced in 2004. It was the first of four vodka flavors they currently create. The others are Cherry Vanilla, Choco Raspberry, and Banana Strawberry. The Banana Strawberry flavor is their newest and it is the flavor I actually wanted to try, but my source was out of stock. Hampton started crafting vodka in 1999 and they also make a gin and an unflavored vodka. After reading the back of the bottle I see all of these products are now distilled and bottled in Grand Rapids Michigan. Hamptons uses 100% yellow corn that is distilled and then quadruple filtered with double filtered pure spring water added, before naturally grown ingredients are added and it is bottled at 80 proof.
