Review: Blue Ice Island Coconut Vodka

Blue Ice Island Coconut vodkaBlue Ice Island Coconut vodka is one of four flavored vodka’s they currently offer in limited markets.  The other flavors include Blue Raspberry, Crème Brule, and Sweet Peach.  Blue Ice also crafts three unflavored vodka’s.  Those include an American Potato, Organic Wheat, and their G Multi-Grain.  Island Coconut starts with their G Multi-Grain vodka as a base.  It is made with premium hand selected American grains and it is distilled five times before natural coconut flavor is infused. Review: Pearl Red Berry Vodka

Pearl Red Berry - CopyPearl Red Berry Vodka is one of 18 flavored vodkas St. Louis based Luxco creates under the Pearl label.  Unlike the other Red Berry vodka’s on the market, Pearl Red Berry is not a blend of several red berries but rather a vodka made with only one red berry, fresh ripe raspberry.  It is crafted in micro batches in Canada with pure water from Canadian Rocky mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat.  It is distilled five times and filtered six times before natural flavors including fresh ripe raspberries are infused. Review: Vox Green Apple Vodka

Vox Green Apple - CopyVox Green Apple vodka was introduced in 2005.  It is one of three vodka flavors Vox creates in the Netherlands at a distillery with a 400 year history of distilling vodka.  Their other flavors are Raspberry and their original unflavored.  It is made with wheat and it is distilled five times before a neutral micron cellulose filtration that filters the impurities without affecting the aroma or flavor is used.  Natural apple flavor is added before bottling in their signature Austrian made glass bottle at 80 proof. Review: Finlandia Tangerine Vodka

finlandia tangerine vodka - CopyFinlandia Tangerine vodka was introduced May 2009.  It is one of ten flavored vodka’s Finlandia currently crafts in Kaskenkorva Finland.  They start with pure glacial spring water and the finest six row barley.  A continuous distillation process with more than 200 distillation steps that leaves no impurities to filter is used.  All natural tangerine flavor is infused before bottling at 75 proof. Review: Smirnoff Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka

Smirnoff Ruby Red Grapefruit vodka will be introduced later this month.  I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle a little early.  It is one of 35 vodka flavors they currently create with their Recipe 21 vodka as a base.  Recipe 21 is made with Midwest grown grain.  It is triple distilled and filtered ten times.  Natural flavors including ruby red grapefruit is infused before bottling at 70 proof. Review: UV Grape Vodka

UV Grape - CopyUV Grape vodka is one of 22 flavors The Phillips Distilling Company currently offers Nationwide under the UV label.  It is crafted with vodka made with Midwest grown yellow corn and purified water from deep aquifers in Princeton Minnesota.  It is distilled four times and then filtered with activated carbon before natural flavors including California grown Concord grapes are added.  Concord grapes are named after the town, Concord Massachusetts, where they were developed in 1849.  They are commonly used in making grape juice and jelly. Review: North Shore Sol Chamomile Citrus Vodka

North Shore Sol Chamomile Citrus vodka - CopyNorth Shore Sol Chamomile Citrus vodka was introduced 2011.  It is one of three vodka’s crafted in Lake Bluff Illinois by the husband and wife team of Derek and Sonja Kassebaum.  Their other vodka’s include their unflavored North Shore and a Tahitian Vanilla flavor.  They also create 3 gins, an absinthe, and an aquavit along with several limited addition spirits.  Their Sol Chamomile Citrus vodka starts with their North Shore vodka as a base.  North Shore is made in small batches by hand in a custom made still from Southern Germany.  They use Midwestern grown wheat and corn and minimally filtered Lake Michigan water.  It is then infused and distilled with hand peeled oranges, lemons, limes, Roman and German chamomile blossoms, Ceylon cinnamon, and allspice. Review: Stoli Blakberi Vodka

Review: Stoli Ohranj Vodka

Stoli Ohranj vodka - CopyStoli Ohranj vodka was introduced in 2005.  It is one of 17 vodka flavors currently crafted by Stoli in Latvia with wheat and pure Artesian well water.  It is triple distilled with the heads and oily tails removed leaving only the heart of the vodka.  It is filtered four times, first through quartz sand and finally through charcoal from Russian birch.  Natural orange flavor is infused before it is bottled at 70 proof.  Read more »
