Review: Copper Crow Whey Vodka
Copper Crow Whey Vodka is crafted at Copper Crow Distillers in Bayfield Wisconsin. Copper Crow is the first native American owned distillery in the US. The distillery was established 2016 by Linda and Curt Basina. Both are members of the Red Cliff band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Curt a retired Wisconsin State Trooper is the distiller. He also makes a wheat vodka, gin, and rum. Copper Crow Whey Vodka is made through a partnership between the University of Wisconsin Stout in Menominee and Copper Crow Distillery. It is made from Wisconsin whey, a by-product of the cheese making industry. The whey is sourced from Burnett Dairy in Grantsburg Wisconsin. It is distilled in small batches and then continuously filtered for 24 hours. The spirit is cut with well water from a Lake Superior aquifer. Read more

Hatch Vodka is distilled from 100% Wisconsin Honey produced by 10 million Door County honey bees at Hatch Distilling Company. Chris Roedl opened his distillery in 2018. He grew up working in his family’s egg production business in Lake Mills Wisconsin. Prior to founding Hatch, Chris was COO for Door Peninsula Winery, and Door County Distillery. Hatch also crafts Gin with a honey spirit base and locally foraged botanicals, bourbon, and apple brandy with grains and apples sourced from local organic farms. Read more
Review: Black Dot Vodka
Black Dot Vodka is crafted at the Yahara Bay Distillery in Madison Wisconsin. They also make Black Dot Gin, Whiskey, and Rum. Their vodka is now made with just three ingredients Corn, yeast, and water. It was previously distilled with a blend of 90% corn and 10% Montmorenci Cherries. Black Dot is distilled in a 90 gallon copper pot still and then chill filtered. Read more
Review: Deaths Door Vodka
Deaths Door Vodka is one of four spirits distilled in Middleton Wisconsin by the Deaths Door Spirits Company. The other three include a gin, white whiskey, and Wondermint, an artisan craft peppermint schnapps. The company is named for the passageway between Washington Island and The Door County Wisconsin Peninsula where many shipped perished throughout the years. Deaths Door vodka is crafted with a 60/40 mix of organic hard red winter wheat grown on Washington Island, and malted barley from Chilton Wisconsin. The vodka is double distilled in a 90 gallon copper pot still, hand cut, and bottled unfiltered. Read more
