by Jeff Ellingson

Fulton's Harvest PumkinPie Cream LiqueurFultons Harvest Pumpkin Pie is made by Heaven Hill in Bardstown Kentucky.  Introduced nationally in 2011 they were the first pumpkin pie cream liqueur.  It is available each September – November, but supply is limited.  Bottled at 12.5% alcohol which compare to the 17% Irish cream’s typically weigh in at, they set the standard other pumpkin pie liqueurs have followed.  The alcohol used in production is grain alcohol. In the bottle the aroma is molasses, hazelnut and nutmeg.  Poured in my glass to a medium consistency and a milky orange caramel color, I pick up some graham cracker and vanilla scents.  In my mouth it feels thick and creamy.  The initial flavor is fresh cream followed by equal parts pumpkin, pie crust, and vanilla with a cinnamon and nutmeg fade and a mild alcohol finish.
