Review: Adictivo Extra Anejo Cristalino
Adictivo Extra Anejo Cristalino is crafted at Tequilera Puerta de Hierro. Adictivo was previously produced at Tequilas Gonzalez Lara. Adictivo was founded and is made by Master Distiller Gildardo Partida, grandson and son of famous tequileros. Gildardo worked with his brother and father on creating the Cava de Oro brand. Adictivo Extra Anejo Cristalino is made from 100% blue agave grown in the Highland region. The spirit is double distilled, aged 7 years in French oak barrels, then filtered to remove most of the color and some of the wood notes. The aroma leads with cherry, oak, and agave. Additional time brings out honey and cinnamon. The sweet vanilla, honey, and agave entry has a viscous mouth feel. Cherry arrives building to a cherry, cinnamon, oak, and caramel peak. It fades with dried cherry and maple syrup and finishes semidry with French oak, agave, and warm cherry pie filling.
