Review: Big Sky Spiked Seltzer

Big Sky Spiked Seltzer was first introduced May 2019.  It is produced by Big Sky Brewing Company in Missoula Montana.  They developed 20-30 adult seltzers before selecting the four flavors found in their 12 can variety pack.  Big Sky was founded by Neal Leathers, Bjorn Nabozney, and Brad Robinson.  They brewed their first batch of beer, Whistle Pig Red Ale June 1995.  Today they produce several beers including Octoberfest, Hazy IPA, Huck It, Summer Honey, Space Goat, Big Sky IPA, Powder Hound, and Moose Drool Brown Ale.  Big Sky Spiked Seltzers are made with pure Montana water, a dextrose alcohol base and natural flavors.  

Big Sky Cucumber Melon Spiked Seltzer:  The aroma leads with sliced watermelon.  A malt backing follows.  The sweet watermelon entry is joined by cucumber.  Vanilla arrives building to a natural watermelon and cucumber peak.  It fades with sour watermelon, citrus, vanilla, sliced cucumber and carbon malt.

Big Sky Huckleberry Spiked Seltzer:  The aroma leads with fresh blueberry.  The sweet huckleberry entry builds to a bright huckleberry peak.  It fades with sour huckleberry and grapefruit twist leaving light carbon seltzer taste.

Big Sky Strawberry Mint Spiked Seltzer:  The aroma leads with strawberry and malt.  Mint follows.  The strawberry mint entry builds to a strawberry mint toothpaste peak.  It fades with malt and sour strawberry and finishes with foamy strawberry beer taste and a touch of mint.

Big Sky Ginger Lemon Basil Spike Seltzer:  The aroma leads with fresh botanic flavors including ginger lemon and basil.  Additional time brings out a malt backing.  The ginger lemon entry is joined by fresh basil.  All of the flavors are fresh and natural.  It fades with foamy beer like texture and finishes with lemon peel, malt, ginger and basil.  This is a very fresh tasting savory seltzer that is a nice change of direction from the typical sweet seltzers on the market today.
