Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Key Lime rum was introduced in 2008.  It is one of seven rum flavors they create with white rum from St. Croix.  Natural Key Lime flavor is added before bottling at 21% alcohol.  Key Limes are smaller in size and more tart than the Persian Limes you typically find in your grocers produce department.The aroma is lime after shave with a hint of rum.  The flavor is sugar sweet lime building to a tart lime peak before fading with a mild mouth warming.  It finishes with tangy lime and rum flavor and a mild burn on the back of my throat.  While ice and additional sips soften the sweetness, it still might be a little too sweet and tart for some to drink on the rocks.  Try mixing with equal parts Key Lime rum and your favorite fresh juice, or for something different cream soda.
