Review: Cariel Vanilla Vodka
Cariel Vanilla vodka was the first vanilla flavored vodka when it was introduced in 2000, after five years of development. It is created through batch blending in which small batches of distilled Swedish Barley are blended with a distillate from Swedish Winter Wheat and pure spring water. It is triple distilled and then infused with creamy vanilla from vanilla orchids found in South West India and floral vanilla from Madagascar. It pours to a clear golden hue from the natural vanilla infused. The aroma is a floral mix of vanilla and vodka with a hint of marshmallow. The dry flavored entry is more vodka than vanilla but it builds to a natural sweet vanilla peak before fading with a spicy medium mouth warming. The finish is dry, with a hint of nutty wheat and marshmallow flavor. While I enjoyed the natural vanilla flavor, particularly the sweet peak, this is a vodka that may be a little hot to drink on the rocks.
