Review: Corona Hard Seltzer Tropical Mix Pack

Corona Hard Seltzer Tropical Mix Pack is one of two reformulated 4 flavor 12 can variety packs recently released by Corona.  They also released Corona Hard Seltzer Tropical Mix Pack.  It has been a busy time at Corona as they will soon launch their Corona Seltzerita variety pack.  While seven of the original Corona Hard Seltzer flavors were single flavors, all four of their Tropical Mix flavors are a blend of two flavors.  Corona also sweetened the formula.  The original 8 Corona Hard Seltzer flavors weighed in with 90 calories 0 sugar and 0 carbs.  The new flavors tip the scales at 100 calories with 2-3 Sugar grams.  Both have 4.5% Alcohol.

Corona Citrus Lime Hard Seltzer:  The aroma leads with fresh slice orange.  Lime follows.  The sweetened orange drink entry builds to a candied orange and lime peak.  It fades with orange marmalade and finishes with orange soda, Green River, and citrus zest.

Grade: B-

Corona Watermelon Lime Hard Seltzer:  The aroma leads with watermelon licorice.  Fresh sliced lime follows.  The candied watermelon entry is joined by Lime Starburst building to a watermelon sorbet and limeade peak.  It fades with watermelon salt water taffy, and finishes with watermelon syrup and tangy lime.

Grade: B-

Corona Mandarin Starfish Hard Seltzer:  The aroma leads with mandarin orange.  Starfruit and carbon seltzer follow.  The sweet tangerine entry is joined by starfish with notes of whipped cream and apple building to a creamy orange sherbet and pear peak.  It fades with tangy orange and citrus leaving tart citrus and foamy seltzer taste.

Grade: B 

Corona Spicy Pineapple Hard Seltzer:  The aroma leads with pineapple and spicy jalapeno pepper.  The Pineapple Lifesavers entry softens to a creamy Dole Pineapple Whip peak.  It fades with jalapeno and pineapple gummy flavor and finishes with a warm peppery sting.

Grade: B+

The Bottom Line:  The Corona refresh of their hard seltzer line is quite a bit sweeter than their previous 8 flavors.
