Review: Dented Brick Premium Rum
Dented Brick Premium Rum is crafted at Dented Brick Distillery in South Salt Lake Utah. The rum is made from dehydrated green sugarcane juice from Lula Farm in Louisiana and a touch of molasses from the same source. The spirit is distilled on a Vendome Copper & Brass Works still and proofed with artesian limestone filtered Rocky Mountain snow melt water from the Wasatch Mountains. This is one of two white rums they produce. Their Dented Brick Craft Rum is made with rum sourced from the US Virgin Islands. The sugar cane molasses rum arrives at 81 ABV and is proofed with pure water from their own artesian well. The aroma leads with burnt cane sugar, mango, sea salt, and tropical pineapple. Additional time brings out banana and toffee notes. The cane sugar and orange entry builds to a salted caramel and peach peak. It fades with toffee and mineral and finishes dry and salty with banana and peach taste. White rums are typically used to mix in cocktails and Dented Brick will perform well there, but Dented Brick Premium Rum is smooth and tasty enough to serve just with ice.
