Familia Camarena is made from 100% Weber Blue agave that are slow roasted in traditional volcanic stone horno’s for several days. After a slow fermentation the tequila is double distilled. The Reposado expression is aged for 60 days in both new and used American oak barrels before bottling at 80 proof. The aroma is cinnamon, vanilla, and agave. Additional time in the glass brings out notes of caramel and lime. The sweet vanilla and agave entry builds to a bright cinnamon apple peak. It fades with baking spice, buttery agave, and caramel. The finish is dry, oaky and salty with a warm peppery sting, leaving bittersweet lime peel and oak taste.
