Review: Henry’s Hard Sparkling Water Tropical Variety Pack

by Jeff Ellingson

At Launch, March 2017, Best Tasting Spirits reviewed Henry’s Hard Sparkling Lemon Lime and Passion Fruit.  Since then Henry’s has changed their recipe and added several flavors.  Henry’s is now sold in cans.  The previous Henry’s was sold in glass bottles.  Henry’s Tropical Variety Pack includes 2 cans each of  Pineapple, Passion Fruit, and Peach Mango flavors.  Most Hard seltzer variety packs come in 12 packs with four flavor varieties.  While the previous versions weighed in at 93 calories the reformulated Henry’s is a lean 88 calories, with 4.2% alcohol, and zero sugar.

Henry’s Pineapple Hard Sparkling Water

The pineapple Jolly Rancher aroma bursts from the glass but quickly dissipates.  The juicy pineapple entry builds to a creamy pineapple peak.  It fades with tangy pineapple juice flavor and finishes with bittersweet pineapple and malty seltzer taste.  Henry’s Pineapple has more pineapple flavor and aroma than any hard seltzer I’ve tasted, but the seltzer taste dominates the finish.

Grade: B

Henry’s Passion Fruit Hard Sparkling Water

The aroma is passion fruit and Bazooka Joe bubble gum.  Additional time in the glass bring out a touch of boiled ham.  The natural passion fruit entry builds to a tart peak.  It fades with bittersweet passion fruit leaving significant seltzer aftertaste.

Grade: C+

Henry’s Peach Mango Hard Sparkling Water

The aroma leads with peach.  Additional time in the glass brings out mango.  The sweet peach entry is joined by mango flavor building to a tart and juicy peach peak.  It fades with tart gummy peach flavor.  The lightly bittersweet finish has far less seltzer aftertaste than Henrys Pineapple or Passion Fruit.
