Heritage Huckleberry Vodka is one of 23 naturally flavored vodkas crafted at the Heritage Distilling Company in Gig Harbor Washington. This is the fourth Huckleberry flavored vodka I’m aware of. Koenig, 360, and 44 North previously released their Huckleberry vodka. Huckleberries grow on shrubs and are in the Ericaceae family that also includes the blueberry and cranberry. While Huckleberries take on several different colors including blue and black, those grown in the western portion of North America are typically red. Heritage Huckleberry is small batch distilled from wine grapes. Natural flavors are then blended before bottling at 60 proof. It pours to a bright red pink color. The aroma is blueberry, grape, and vanilla. The sweet grape entry builds to a tart blueberry huckleberry peak. It fades with a warm mild sting with sweet vanilla and berry taste. Heritage Huckleberry Vodka is a very tasty flavored vodka that makes me wish my local grocer sold fresh huckleberries.
