Mikes hard smashed - CopyMikes Hard Smashed Crisp Apple cider was introduced in 2013.  It is part of the Mike’s Hard Lemonade Company that was launched in 1999.  It is made with crisp Washington state apples in Memphis Tennessee at the Blues City Brewery.  It is sold in cans and six packs of 11.2 ounce bottles which may be because their parent company the Mark Anthony Group is based in Vancouver Canada. It pours to a lightly carbonated amber color.  The crisp apple entry is joined by the flavor of beer before fading with a tart apple finish.  While I feel some hard apple ciders have a beer aura or a hint of beer maltiness, Mike’s Hard Smashed Crisp Apple cider is by far the most beer tasting hard cider I’ve tried.  The crisp apple flavor does provide a nice flavor contrast.  If you are decided between a beer or cider, this may be the drink for you.
