It is one of eight vodka flavors EJ Gallo creates in Modesto California under the New Amsterdam label. The other flavors include Mango, Peach, Red Berry, Orange, Pineapple, and their Original unflavored. Each starts with the finest quality grains. The vodka is distilled 5 times and filtered 3 times before natural lemon and lime flavors are infused. The aroma is lemon and grain alcohol. The sweet lemon entry builds to a creamy lemon taste, but peaks with lemon cough drop flavor. The fade is warm and peppery with straight vodka and lemon and lime zest taste. The finish is semi dry. While lemon takes the lead, it fades far to quick, and the vodka finish is not as smooth as I would like. I will save this for mixing cocktails and I would recommend cocktails that include lemonade to enhance the lemon flavor of New Amsterdam Citron vodka.
