Review: Ole Smoky Bourbon Ball Cream Whiskey
Ole Smoky Bourbon Ball Cream Whiskey is one of 20 flavored whiskeys produced and bottled at Ole Smoky distillery in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Bourbon Ball is one of five that include cream. Ole Smoky also produces 30 varieties of Moonshine. The Ole Smoky Distillery was founded by Joe Baker in 2010. They released their first flavored whiskey in 2016. Ole Smoky makes their flavored whiskeys from a whiskey base with a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley. Cream, natural and artificial flavors are blended with the whiskey base before bottling at 35 proof. By comparison Irish Creams are typically bottled at 34 proof. OS Bourbon Ball pours to a milky beige color. The aroma leads with fudge, and whiskey, with oak notes and chocolate ice cream. The sweet whiskey and dairy cream entry is joined by melted milk chocolate building to a chocolate fudge and whiskey peak. It fades with cocoa and finishes with chocolate milk shake, and sweet whiskey taste with a mild whiskey burn.
