Review: Pearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka
Pearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka was introduced October 2015. When I think of chocolate hazelnut, I immediately think of Nutella and Ferrero Rocher candy, and those thoughts are good. Chocolate Hazelnut is one of 17 flavors made with their original unflavored Pearl Vodka as a base. Pearl is made with vodka distilled in Alberta Canada with pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat. Two pounds of this wheat is needed to create one bottle. Pearl is micro batch distilled five times and filtered six times before natural and artificial flavors are infused. The aroma is nutty and chocolaty with a cinnamon backing. The sweet marshmallow and cinnamon entry is joined by vanilla building to a milk chocolate peak. It fades with cinnamon hazelnut flavor with a warm peppery sting, and finishes with a mild alcohol burn. Pearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka is a sweet tasty vodka that will mix well in cocktails. While there is a light syrupy feel, I don’t consider it over sweet.
