Pearl Lime Basil Vodka is one of three vodka flavors they released June 2015. Strawberry Basil and Vanilla Bean are the other new flavors. Pearl Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Covered Cherry are no longer produced. Pearl also redesign their bottle, and they have two additional flavors set to launch. While basil is probably best known as an ingredient in spaghetti sauce, creative mixologists have been including fresh basil in their savory cocktails for years. It was only a matter of time before someone created a basil flavored vodka. Pearl crafts their vodka in micro batches from soft Canadian winter wheat and pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams. The vodka is distilled five times and filtered six times. Natural flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof.The aroma is fresh squeezed lime juice with a hint of basil. The fresh lime entry builds to a tart lime zest peak. A dollop of cream softens the tart, before fading with a sprinkle of pepper, and a touch of muddled basil taste. A long fresh whole lime tasting finish follows. Lime is a flavor vodka distillers have struggled with. Pearl not only does a good job with the natural lime taste but the fresh basil flavor accents the lime without dominating it.
